When we say Vinoground is a curatorial project, we mean something specific: every wine in the catalog has passed through several filters, and most candidates ultimately don't make it.
First filter — place. We work exclusively with Georgian winemakers. Not because wines from elsewhere are worse, but because focus matters. Georgia is its own universe with thousands of years of history, and it can be explored endlessly.
Second filter — scale. We deliberately avoid large producers. Their wines are already available everywhere. We are interested in small family estates with limited production that fall outside standard distribution networks.
Third filter — method. Priority goes to qvevri winemaking and natural approaches. Minimal intervention in fermentation, traditional varieties, hand-harvesting.
Fourth filter — taste. This is the most subjective but also the most honest criterion. We taste every wine before it enters the catalog. If a wine doesn't spark interest, it won't reach you.
The Vinoground catalog is small but alive. It changes with vintages, with producers, with our own deepening knowledge. We don't aim for breadth — we aim for depth.
